We are pleased to announce that the 2019 RICA Jim Ormsby Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on the TPC Sawgrass Dye’s Valley Course located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Ranked by Golfweek as one of the best “Courses You Can Play in Florida,” Dye’s Valley was opened in 1987 as the sister course to the world-famous TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course, home of The Players Championship. The Dye’s Valley Course was designed by world-renown golf course designer Pete Dye, Bobby Weed, and player consultant Jerry Pate. From 1988 through 1990, it was the host site for the Senior Players Championship, and for several years, it hosted Web.com Tour tournaments, including their Tour Championship from 2010 – 2012.
Dye’s Valley measures over 6,847 yards from its back tees, features water hazards on all 18 holes, and plenty of immaculately maintained sand traps. As with any venue associated with the PGA Tour (which calls the TPC Sawgrass its home), the conditioning of the course should be absolutely pristine.
Many of the holes on Dye’s Valley are similar in design to the Stadium Course. The 18th hole on the Dye’s Valley Course is very similar in design and difficulty to the 18th hole on the Stadium Course and, although it is not an island green, the par 3 fifth hole has water surrounding nearly 3/4 of the green. Still, with its wider fairways and more receptive greens, Dye’s Valley is considered more forgiving than its sister course.
The 2019 RICA Jim Ormsby Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 17th and begin at 9:00 a.m. An awards luncheon will follow in the Sunset Room of the spectacular clubhouse, one of the most beautiful in the United States. The cost is $145.00 per player. We hope that you’ll be able to join us for this fun-filled event!
